Do I need to pay to try it?
No, and not in the trial sense either. The checker is free for good, works
without an account, and gives you the whole report — every tag, all
eight previews and the fixes. Paying is for auditing a whole site, watching
it on a schedule, and generating cards.
Pro says “per site” — am I limited to one domain?
Not technically. Nothing ties your subscription to a particular domain, and
you can point audits and monitors at whatever you like. What limits you are
the allowances on the card above — audits a month, pages per audit,
monitors running at once. One site rarely troubles them. Three or four
will.
What happens if I go over my allowance?
It depends what you go over, and nothing breaks in any of the cases. Audits
stop starting new runs until the month turns over; the ones you have
already run stay where they are. Generated cards
keep being drawn — they sit inside pages that are already live, and
refusing would leave your visitors looking at a broken preview over a
billing threshold — but they carry a small MetaManager mark until you
are back inside your allowance. Monitors work differently again: the limit
is how many you can have running, not how often they run, so nothing stops
— you just cannot add another until you remove one or upgrade.
Can I change plan or cancel?
Any time, from your account. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades
and cancellations run to the end of the period you have already paid for.
Cancelling leaves you on the free checker rather than locking you out.
Monthly or yearly?
Yearly is ten months for twelve. There is no other difference — same
limits, same features. Start monthly if you are unsure; switching later
does not cost you anything.
Who handles the payment?
Polar, as merchant of record. They take the card details, handle VAT and
sales tax wherever you are, and send the invoices. We never see your card
number, and your subscription is managed through their portal from your
account page.
What is a customer brand on Business?
If you run a platform, each of your own customers can have their own
colours, logo and card layout, registered once and referenced by an id you
choose. Without it every card you generate would wear your branding rather
than theirs, which rather defeats the point.
Is there a discount for open source or non-profits?
Yes. Send us the project and we will sort something out — there is no
form and no approval process to sit through.
